Inbetween Days
The day I will open
  the windows of my house
It will be a cold but bright
  wintery day
And the slow steady wind
  will blow the dust away
Dissolving the sadness of
  having lost you forever

Then will you be my friend again
  my dearest dearest friend again?
When the pain and the guilt
  stand no longer between us
For I fear and I wonder
  I really really wonder
Whether mates remain mates
if they're in love with another

The day I opened
  my heart up to you
Eighteen years ago
  it was freezing then too
And that one night became many
  but not for forever
For our days became troubled
  and we drifted apart

Then will you be my friend again
  my dearest dearest friend again?
When the pain and the guilt
  stand no longer between us
For I fear and I wonder
  I really really wonder
Whether mates remain mates
if they're in love with another
